Nigerian Music Industry Has Its Own ‘Diddy’ – Tiwa Savage
Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage recently suggested that the Nigerian music industry may have its own equivalent of American music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, hinting at a similar figure emerging in local entertainment. Speaking on Lagos radio station The Beat 99.9 FM, Savage remarked, “I think Nigerian music might have our own Diddy moment.”
This comment follows global news surrounding Diddy, who faces serious allegations, including charges related to sex trafficking and racketeering. Federal authorities raided his Beverly Hills home in March, seizing items allegedly used for illicit gatherings, such as drugs and thousands of bottles of baby oil. In September, Diddy was arrested on suspicion of sex trafficking, which he denies, having entered a not-guilty plea on September 17. The court, however, denied his bail twice.
In a related development, Nigerian entertainer Oluwadolarz recently claimed that a prominent gay music executive demanded sexual favors in exchange for promoting his music. This sparked responses across the industry, with Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy daring Oluwadolarz to name the individual, though he has yet to disclose any names.
