Tems Reveals Back-to-Back Messages from Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Drake in Just Three Days
Nigerian music sensation Tems recently shared an unforgettable milestone in her career: receiving messages from three global music icons—Beyoncé, Rihanna, and Drake—within just three days. Speaking with BigBoy TV, the 29-year-old artist described how Beyoncé’s team first reached out in 2020, shortly after her hit collaboration on Essence with Wizkid put her on the international music radar.
“I never imagined becoming this big. After we released Essence, I started getting messages,” Tems recounted. “Beyoncé’s team reached out, and I was like, ‘God, what’s going on?’”
Not long after, she received direct messages from both Drake and Rihanna. “These are people who have influenced culture significantly over the past decade or more. They’re incredibly respected in the industry,” she explained, adding that hearing from them so closely together felt surreal.
Tems admitted the whirlwind of recognition left her feeling as if she were in a dream. “It felt like it wasn’t real. I thought I was either dreaming or being pranked,” she said.
