Nicki Minaj Posts Cute Video of Her ‘Incredible BFF’ Papa Bear
Rap sensation Nicki Minaj, well-known for sharing adorable moments with her nearly-three-year-old son, affectionately referred to as Papa Bear, took to Instagram to celebrate National Son’s Day on Thursday (September 28). The Queen’s rapper delighted her fans with a heartwarming montage of precious moments with her “tiny bestie.”
Captioning the post, Minaj shared her adoration for her young son, writing, “I have this incredible BFF who just so happens to only be 2 years old. #BoyMom.”
As Papa Bear approaches his third birthday on Saturday (September 30), Minaj’s devoted fanbase, the Barbz, marveled at the toddler’s growth this year. Commenting on a clip Minaj had posted earlier in the week while recording a Queen Radio episode, one fan wrote, “Wow, he’s so big, grew up so fast. The ladies are going to be all up on him when he grows up. God bless Papa Bear and the entire family.”
However, amid these heartwarming family moments, there is ongoing drama involving Minaj’s husband and Papa Bear’s father, Kenneth Petty. Court documents shared on Twitter by reporter Meghann Cuniff on September 20 revealed that Petty had been sentenced to 120 days of house arrest for an incident on Instagram Live where he took aim at Offset.
Petty, 45, had previously received three years of probation and one year of house detention in July 2022. This sentence was a result of his failure to register as a sex offender in California, where he and Nicki Minaj moved in 2019, shortly before their marriage. Petty’s status as a sex offender dates back to a 1995 conviction for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, for which he served four years in prison.
The recent drama unfolded after the MTV VMAs earlier this month, during which both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B performed. A viral video captured Petty calling out Offset in a late-night encounter on a New York City street with his entourage.
In the video, Petty confrontationally asks, “Sturdy, n-gga. What’s poppin? Where n-ggas is at, man? Huh? Plan that vacation but we’re planning your funeral, pussy.”
Offset, undeterred by the threats, responded in a video shared on his social media accounts. He laughed off Petty’s comments while boarding a private jet heading to Colorado, quipping, “I’m getting off a jet, he’s funny. Fuck these n-ggas talmbout? … These n-ggas broke! We hoppin’ off jets. Y’all n-ggas standing outside talmbout ‘outside.’ Extremely broke!”
