Mick Jagger Says His Kids ‘Don’t Need $500 Million’ as He Hints He May Give Away Their Inheritance

In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, rock icon Mick Jagger delved into the business side of the legendary band, the Rolling Stones, as they prepare to launch their first album of original material in 18 years. While discussing the band’s financial affairs, Jagger made some noteworthy comments that may not sit well with his eight children.

Despite his personal aversion to the business aspects of the music industry, Jagger emphasized their undeniable importance. Over the years, the Rolling Stones have amassed millions through their extensive touring endeavours. When questioned about the possibility of selling their music catalogue from post-1971 to further boost their wealth, Jagger firmly responded in the negative.

Jagger, who recently turned 80, revealed that he believes his children do not require a staggering $500 million fortune to live comfortably. He even hinted at the possibility of donating a significant portion of his wealth to charitable causes in the future, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

The rock legend’s eight children, named Karis, Jade, Elizabeth, James, Georgia May, Lucas, Gabriel, and Deveraux, span in age from six to 52 years old. Jagger’s statement reflects his perspective on wealth and its purpose, suggesting that the welfare of his children does not necessitate an extravagant inheritance.

Despite his age, Jagger remains aware of the financial potential that still exists in the music industry. He mused about the concept of a posthumous business and even a posthumous tour, highlighting the enduring legacy and timeless appeal of the Rolling Stones’ music.
