Portable Laments as Ogun Govt Seals His Hotel, Uncompleted Building

Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has raised concerns after the Ogun State government sealed his uncompleted building and hotel in Sango-Ota over alleged illegal development.

The controversial artist took to Instagram to share a notice from the Ogun State Planning and Development Authority, confirming the enforcement action.

Portable alleged that authorities detained about 20 of his workers and customers during the operation, also seizing vehicles, motorcycles, and mobile phones. Additionally, he claimed that alcoholic beverages from his Odowgu Bar and Food were confiscated.

Expressing his frustration, he wrote:

“I believe in Eledumare. Nobody can fool me, Omo Olohun. They packed more than 20 people—both artists and customers—along with their cars, bikes, and phones. They also sealed my uncompleted building and hotel. Why? This is my hometown. I didn’t fight back, yet they even took all the drinks from my bar.”

The singer further emphasized that his business serves as an event space and a platform for promoting and supporting others, questioning why the government would disrupt his livelihood.

The Ogun State Planning and Development Authority has yet to respond to Portable’s allegations.
