Burna Boy Opens Up on Resilience Ahead of Upcoming Album Release
Nigerian music star and Grammy winner, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has shared insights into the personal struggles that inspired his forthcoming album, No Sign of Weakness.
Speaking during a recent interview with NSTV, the award-winning artist revealed that his journey has been marked by deep emotional challenges, including moments when he questioned his own existence. Despite these internal battles, Burna Boy said he remained steadfast in his pursuit of greatness.
“I’ve had more reasons than most to stop existing, but I’ve kept going,” he said. “This album is my message to the world – through everything, I’ve shown no sign of weakness. And that’s what I want anyone coming after me to learn: never show weakness.”
The new album, No Sign of Weakness, will be Burna Boy’s eighth studio project and is slated for release on July 11, 2025. It will be released under Atlantic Records, Spaceship, and Bad Habit.
The album’s title reinforces Burna Boy’s signature theme of resilience, echoing sentiments he’s expressed throughout his career – of overcoming adversity and turning pain into powerful music.
