Qing Madi Named Face of Infinix HOT 70 Pro as Brand Targets Nigeria’s Gen Z Market

Nigerian music star Qing Madi has been unveiled as the official face of the new Infinix HOT 70 Pro, as the smartphone maker launches a youth-focused campaign centred on creativity, self-expression and individuality.

The partnership pairs one of Africa’s fastest-rising music talents with a brand that has built much of its identity around Gen Z consumers, signalling Infinix’s continued push to strengthen its connection with young Nigerians through music, technology and culture.

The campaign will officially kick off with the HOT 70 Pro “Be Seen Be Hot” Campus Storm at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), where Qing Madi will make her first public appearance as the device’s ambassador.

A Partnership Built Around Youth Culture

Over the past two years, Qing Madi has emerged as one of the continent’s most promising young artists, earning millions of streams, international recognition and a rapidly expanding fan base through a string of successful releases.

Her reputation for authenticity and originality made her a natural fit for the HOT 70 Pro campaign, according to Infinix.

Rather than positioning the collaboration as a traditional celebrity endorsement, the company says the partnership celebrates a generation that values individuality and refuses to conform.

The HOT series has long targeted students, young professionals, creators and digital natives who increasingly rely on their smartphones not only for communication but also for content creation, entertainment and productivity.

A Smartphone Designed for Self-Expression

At the centre of the HOT 70 Pro experience is the Active Matrix Cube, an evolution of Infinix’s signature Active Matrix Display technology.

Integrated into the device’s distinctive “Sugar Cube” camera module, the feature allows users to personalise animated pixel art, customise lighting effects, receive smart notifications and share digital creations with compatible devices via NFC.

According to Infinix, the goal is to make the smartphone an extension of its owner’s personality rather than simply another mobile device.

The handset also adopts the company’s Dynamic Shine Design, featuring finishes that change appearance depending on light and viewing angles while maintaining a slim premium profile.

Beyond Design

While aesthetics play a major role, the HOT 70 Pro also introduces several hardware upgrades aimed at everyday users.

The smartphone features an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, allowing it to better withstand splashes, rain and challenging outdoor conditions.

Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100 5G processor, paired with a 144Hz refresh rate display, a 6,000mAh battery, AI-powered productivity features and a 50MP Sony IMX882 camera system capable of capturing Live Photos and high-quality content for social media creators.

The combination reflects Infinix’s strategy of offering flagship-inspired features within its mid-range HOT lineup.

Why Qing Madi?

According to Oluwayemisi Ode, PR Manager at Infinix Nigeria, Qing Madi represents the values the HOT series seeks to promote.

“The HOT Series has always represented confidence, creativity and individuality. Qing Madi embodies those values in every sense. She is talented, fearless, authentic and deeply connected with today’s generation of young Nigerians. Her journey reflects exactly what the HOT 70 Pro stands for—standing out, embracing originality and expressing yourself without limits. We couldn’t think of a better person to lead this campaign.”

For Qing Madi, the partnership aligns closely with her personal philosophy.

“I’ve always believed that the best version of yourself is the one that’s unapologetically authentic. That’s why this partnership feels so natural to me. The HOT 70 Pro is bold, creative and different, and I love how it encourages people to express themselves in their own way. I’m excited to begin this journey with Infinix and connect with fans through this campaign.”

Campus Storm Launches the Campaign

The partnership officially comes to life through the HOT 70 Pro “Be Seen Be Hot” Campus Storm, scheduled to take place at the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

The event is expected to attract thousands of students from UNILAG, Yaba College of Technology and the Federal College of Education.

Attendees will have the opportunity to experience the new smartphone through interactive product demonstrations, games, creator engagements, giveaways and live entertainment.

Qing Madi will also participate in a meet-and-greet session before closing the event with a live performance.

More Than a Product Launch

Beyond introducing a new smartphone, the Campus Storm represents the beginning of a broader youth-focused campaign that blends technology, music, fashion and campus culture.

By placing one of Nigeria’s fastest-rising music stars at the centre of the campaign, Infinix is reinforcing its ambition to remain one of the country’s most youth-oriented smartphone brands.

As competition intensifies within Nigeria’s smartphone market, partnerships like this increasingly reflect how technology companies are using entertainment and cultural influence – not just product specifications – to connect with younger consumers.

With Qing Madi leading the campaign, Infinix hopes the HOT 70 Pro will resonate not only as a smartphone, but as a symbol of confidence, creativity and self-expression for a new generation.
