A$AP Rocky’s Texts to A$AP Relli Revealed in Court as Rihanna Attends Trial
Text messages exchanged between A$AP Rocky and A$AP Relli following an alleged shooting in 2021 were presented in court on Wednesday, January 29, as the rapper faces trial on two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon.
The messages, sent just hours after the incident, show Relli – real name Terrell Ephron – accusing Rocky of setting him up. Rocky denied the claim, responding, “I tried to do what?? … Stop making shit up Rell.” The conversation escalated when Relli mentioned that security cameras had recorded the incident, which Rocky interpreted as an extortion attempt. He replied, “Now u trynna extort n-ggas talkin bout i shot at u n shot u 4 times and all type of nonsense, u a phony and u dont have the best intentions, stop texting me n stop calling my manager and call police if i ‘shot’ @ u u weirdo.”
During his testimony, Relli detailed the impact of the alleged shooting, claiming his life had been a “living hell.” He reported receiving death threats, losing his music management business, and being labeled a “rat” by fellow A$AP Mob member A$AP Bari.
He also recounted the confrontation, stating that Rocky pointed a gun at him and threatened, “I’ll kill you right now.” Prosecutors allege that Rocky fired the weapon twice, grazing Relli’s hand. Rocky, however, has maintained that he only fired a prop gun that shoots blanks, though his legal team has acknowledged that the starter pistol in question no longer exists.
Rihanna, Rocky’s girlfriend, was present in court as the trial unfolded. If convicted, the rapper could face up to 24 years in prison.
