Actress Omowunmi Ajiboye Denies Ever Marrying Segun Ogungbe, Says They Only Share Children
Nollywood actress Omowunmi Ajiboye has publicly clarified that she was never married to fellow actor and filmmaker Segun Ogungbe, despite having two children with him.
In a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, Ajiboye addressed lingering rumours about her past relationship with Ogungbe, nearly two years after their highly publicised separation in 2023. According to her, contrary to popular belief, the relationship never culminated in marriage or any formal engagement.
“Let me just set the record straight, Segun Ogungbe and I were never married or engaged. We just have kids,” she said. “Segun Ogungbe has never met any of my family members, except a friend of my sibling who lives in Lagos. Segun himself can confirm this.”
Ajiboye’s comments come after she faced online criticism for not acknowledging Ogungbe at her mother’s burial ceremony in 2023. The backlash intensified when she was seen celebrating the attendance of Lagos socialite and NURTW chieftain, MC Oluomo, at the same event – fueling speculation of a romantic connection between the two.
At the time, Ajiboye denied having any intimate relationship with MC Oluomo and later took a step back from the film industry, relocating abroad for a period.
Now back in the public eye, the actress appealed to the public to stop attacking her online over her personal life. “Please, I beg everyone, stop trolling me. I’ve endured so much already,” she said.
The revelation marks the latest twist in a complicated narrative that has drawn public attention since the duo’s separation, reigniting conversations about privacy, relationships, and assumptions in celebrity culture.
