Air Peace Reduces Nigeria-London Airfare by N600,000
Air Peace has announced a significant reduction in ticket prices for its Nigeria-London route, slashing fares by up to N600,000 as part of its latest promotional campaign.
The airline’s Head of Corporate Communications, Dr. Ejike Ndiulo, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos. The offer also includes an additional free luggage allowance for travelers, providing more value to passengers flying the route.
According to the statement, the promotional fares will be available until March 31, with an extended travel window up to April 15.
Passengers traveling from cities such as Abuja, Asaba, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Warri, Port Harcourt, and Chinua Achebe International Airport in Umueri, Anambra State, must connect through Lagos before proceeding to London Gatwick.
A review of Air Peace’s booking platform shows that, during the promo period, ticket prices for flights departing on March 22 start at N965,500 to N975,500 for economy class, while business class fares begin at N2.38 million, depending on seat availability.
Expanding International Travel Options
Air Peace commenced its Lagos-London service on March 30, 2024, with the aim of providing Nigerians with more affordable international flight options. The airline initially introduced economy fares starting at N1.2 million – significantly lower than the N3-5 million charged by foreign carriers. Business class fares were also competitively set at N4.5 million.
By April 2024, the airline expanded connectivity for its London-Gatwick service, enabling travelers from several Nigerian cities to book connecting flights through Lagos. In December 2024, Air Peace further extended its reach to include passengers from Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, allowing more travelers from the southeast to access its international flights.
Air Peace’s competitive pricing strategy has prompted foreign airlines to reduce their fares on the same route, as noted by the airline’s CEO, Allen Onyema. He previously stated that some international carriers had slashed their ticket prices in response to Air Peace’s entry into the market, in what appeared to be an attempt to limit its market share.
With this latest fare reduction, Air Peace continues to position itself as a strong competitor in Nigeria’s international aviation sector, offering cost-effective travel options without compromising quality
