Apple Watch Series 8 Cannot Accurately Measure Body Temperature

Apple is going to hold an event in September this year and at this event, there will be 5 products that will form the main highlight – iPhone 14 series, iPad 2022, Apple Watch 8 series, iMac series and AirPods 2022.

Hwowever, reports from MacRumors indicate that the Apple Watch 8 series isn’t expected to provide accurate measurements.

According to the latest report, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has long rumored a temperature monitoring feature for the Apple Watch.

Over the past year, rumors surrounding the feature’s eventual debut on the Apple Watch 8 series later this year have cleared up.

Just last week, Apple was awarded a patent for a temperature sensor apparently related to the Apple Watch.

However, contrary to some observers’ hopes of being able to check their temperature or see if they have a fever, it looks like the feature could be quite limited when it rolls out.

Apple has greatly enhanced the Apple Watch’s sleep tracking capabilities in watchOS 9, so it seems reasonable to further improve this area with the help of hardware this year.

Apple is also said to be planning to enable body temperature sensors to detect when users have a fever, but it seems unlikely that this feature will be available at the launch of the Apple Watch Series 8.

Gurman believes that in future Apple Watch models can determine if a user’s body temperature is higher than normal, but it’s still unlikely to show an accurate measurement.

All in all, this suggests that the body temperature sensor included with the Apple Watch Series 8 may not be quite what some users expect.
