Asake Confirms Exit from YBNL, Launches Own Record Label
Nigerian music star Ahmed Ololade, popularly known as Asake, has officially parted ways with YBNL Nation and unveiled his own record label, Giran Republic.
Speculation had been swirling about the singer’s departure from Olamide’s YBNL, with some rumours suggesting a possible fallout. However, Asake put an end to the uncertainty by releasing his latest single, Why Love, under his new imprint.
Earlier in the year, the Sungba hitmaker paid tribute to Olamide in his song Military, seemingly dismissing any notion of tension between them.
Asake first joined YBNL Nation in February 2022 and later secured a distribution deal with Empire in July of the same year. Despite his exit from YBNL, he remains affiliated with Empire for music distribution.
