Ayra Starr Admits to Being a Social Media Troll Before Fame

Nigerian singer Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, popularly known as Ayra Starr, has revealed that she was once a social media troll before rising to fame.

The 22-year-old made the disclosure while speaking on the I Said What I Said podcast, hosted by Feyikemi Abudu and Jola Ayeye. She admitted to running a fan page dedicated to American rapper Nicki Minaj before launching her music career.

“I had a troll page, I had a Nicki Minaj fan page before I became Ayra Starr,” she confessed.

Since stepping into the limelight, Ayra Starr has been outspoken about the impact of online trolling, particularly as she has often faced criticism over her fashion choices and posture. In response to past criticism, she once jokingly attributed her “bad postures” to the weight of “carrying Afrobeats singlehandedly.”
