Basketmouth Explains Silence on 2Face and Annie Idibia’s Divorce
Popular Nigerian comedian Basketmouth has addressed those questioning his silence on the marital crisis between singer 2Face Idibia and actress Annie Idibia.
2Face recently announced his separation from Annie, sparking widespread reactions on social media, especially among celebrities. However, Basketmouth has made it clear that he has no intention of commenting on the issue.
In a video shared on Instagram, the comedian, who went through his own publicized divorce in 2022, explained that he wants to avoid being dragged into controversy.
“I have been receiving lots of emails and DMs from people asking why I’m not talking about Tuface and Annie’s situation,” he said. “I’ve known 2Face for 27 years and Annie for 24, but I’m not in any position to get involved because I’m not qualified at all. I don’t want to say something that will make people remember my own and start dragging me.”
Basketmouth added that he intends to keep 2025 drama-free, urging people not to pressure him into discussing the situation.
