Beyoncé Unveils Highly Anticipated Haircare Line, Cécred, Nearly a Year After Teasing Fans

After nearly a year of anticipation, Beyoncé is set to launch her long-awaited haircare range, Cécred, later this month, adding to her already substantial fortune.

The 42-year-old ‘Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)’ singer, whose net worth is estimated at $800 million, took to Instagram to share a video teasing the upcoming release. In the video, Beyoncé is seen undergoing a hair wash, emphasizing the significance of hair as a sacred journey. The caption alongside the video reads, “Hair is sacred. The journey begins Feb 20. Visit CECRED.COM.”

The video also features imagery of a beauty salon and women getting their hair done, with a nod to Headliners Hair Salon, which was once operated by Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles, 70. Notably, Destiny’s Child, Beyoncé’s former girl group, used to perform at the salon before rising to fame.

Further emphasizing her connection to the salon, the video includes footage of Beyoncé as a youth alongside her mother in the 1980s. Additionally, the Cécred Instagram account shared a compilation of social media comments and videos from fans eagerly discussing the new haircare brand, with Beyoncé narrating, “Obviously I grew up in my mother’s hair salon.”

As of Wednesday (07.02.24), the brand’s website allows users to sign up for email notifications but does not provide specific details about the Cécred product line.

Beyoncé has previously expressed her desire to carry on her mother’s legacy in the beauty industry, citing her own hair journey as inspiration. Over the years, she has ventured into fragrance, launching several perfumes, including the recent Ce Noir, which retails for $160 per bottle. With the launch of Cécred, Beyoncé is poised to make a significant impact in the haircare market, leveraging her influence and expertise in the beauty industry.
