Busta Rhymes Joins Forces with His Children for Collaboration on New Song

In a powerful demonstration of family talent, Busta Rhymes has teamed up with his children for a poignant new single titled “Legacy,” released on Thursday (November 23) as part of his latest album, “Blockbusta.” The veteran rapper, also known as Bussa Buss, collaborated with his two daughters, Cacie (aka Cién) and Mariah (aka Rai), along with his son Trillian, creating a familial synergy that adds a unique touch to his extensive hip-hop legacy.

Produced by DJ Khalil, Mike & Keys, and My Guy Mars, “Legacy” delves into the evolution of fatherhood as Busta Rhymes reflects on the joys and challenges of raising his children. The heartfelt lyrics touch on the dynamic relationships within the family, with Busta expressing sentiments such as, “Bein’ a father to my kids is my greatest reward to them.”

The Brooklyn MC, known for his longevity in the hip-hop scene, has often grappled with balancing his career in music with his responsibilities as a father. In a candid interview on Hot 97’s Ebro In The Morning over the summer, Busta Rhymes shared personal anecdotes, recounting instances where his professional commitments led to missing significant milestones in his children’s lives.

Reflecting on past sacrifices, Busta acknowledged the impact on his family, especially missing his son’s high school graduation. However, the rapper expressed a sense of fulfillment, stating that his sacrifices have ultimately paid off, bringing him happiness in the present.

“Blockbusta,” Busta Rhymes’ 11th studio album, boasts a total of 19 tracks and features an impressive lineup of collaborations. The project, released on November 24, includes contributions from incarcerated Young Thug, BIA, Quavo, Blxst, T-Pain, DaBaby, Coi Leray, BLEU, Swizz Beatz, JNR Choi, Giggs, Shenseea, Morray, and more, showcasing the artist’s continued relevance and ability to connect with a diverse range of talents in the music industry.
