Cardi B Defends Offset Amidst Legal Tussle with Nicki Minaj’s Husband

Cardi B has stepped up to defend her husband, Offset, amidst a recent legal altercation involving Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty. The situation arose when Kenneth Petty was sentenced to house arrest due to threats made against the Migos rapper.

Taking to Twitter on Thursday, the Bronx-born rapper voiced her support for Offset, expressing her concern that social media discussions surrounding the incident were unfairly portraying Offset as the instigator.

The previous day, court reporter Meghan Cuniff highlighted in a tweet that Kenneth Petty’s house arrest order did not mention Offset or Cardi B, emphasizing that the probation officer and judge had acted on the threats independently without any external reports or complaints.

In response, Cardi B reacted to blogger Ken Barbie’s retweet of Cuniff’s post, asserting, “EXACTLY KEEP ME AND MY MANS OUT YALL F***IN MOUTH.”

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B’s longstanding rival, seemed to indirectly address her husband’s house arrest on Thursday. She posted a cryptic tweet containing a GIF of a woman sipping a drink through a straw, prompting speculation among fans about the intended target.

Additionally, Nicki shared an Instagram video promoting an upcoming episode of her Queen Radio show, where she appeared affectionate with Kenneth Petty. Whether Nicki will discuss the situation further on the airwaves remains to be seen.

According to court documents shared on Twitter by reporter Meghann Cuniff, Kenneth Petty received a 120-day house arrest sentence after making threats against Offset during an Instagram Live session. In addition to house arrest, Petty had been placed on three years’ probation and one year of house detention in July 2022 for failing to register as a sex offender in California.

Petty’s sex offender status stems from a 1995 conviction for the first-degree attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl, which resulted in a four-year prison sentence.

The incident gained attention following the MTV VMAs earlier this month, where both Nicki Minaj and Cardi B performed. A viral video captured Petty taunting Offset on a New York City street late at night, with a few members of his entourage present. The video allegedly took place outside the hotel where Offset and Cardi were staying, although neither of them confronted Petty’s group.

Offset responded to the threats by posting a video on his social media platforms, where he laughed off the situation while disembarking from a private jet en route to Colorado. In the video, he dismissed the threats, highlighting his success and wealth compared to his detractors.
