Cassie Testifies Against Diddy, Alleges Years of Abuse and Coercion
Singer and model Cassie Ventura took the witness stand for a second day on Wednesday, May 14, detailing a disturbing pattern of abuse in the federal trial of music executive Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Testifying in a Manhattan courtroom, the 38-year-old artist painted a grim picture of her decade-long relationship with Combs, describing incidents of sexual violence, manipulation, and physical assault. Among the most serious allegations, Ventura claimed that Combs raped her in her Los Angeles apartment after she attempted to end their relationship.
She also spoke about being coerced into what Combs allegedly referred to as “freak-offs”—sex parties involving male escorts, which he reportedly directed and recorded. Ventura testified that she lived in constant fear that these explicit recordings would be leaked, potentially ending her career and damaging her family’s reputation. “It was embarrassing and horrible,” she told the court. “No one should go through that.”
Prosecutors supported her account with still images from the alleged videos, which reportedly left some jurors visibly shaken. Cassie also recounted incidents of violence, including a 2013 assault that required stitches and a separate hotel attack in 2016 caught on surveillance footage.
Evidence presented in court included text messages between Ventura and Combs, with references to drug use and preparations for the so-called “freak-offs.” In one exchange, Combs allegedly advised her to avoid ketamine, while Ventura replied that the encounters were emotionally draining.
Ventura first sued Combs in 2023, reaching a $20 million settlement shortly after filing. Since then, several other women have come forward with similar accusations. Combs, who has been in custody since September 2024, now faces multiple federal charges, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and abuse.
While his defense team admits to episodes of domestic violence, they have rejected the sex trafficking allegations, insisting the charges reflect an unfair attack on Combs’s private life.
The trial is expected to continue in the coming weeks, with more alleged victims scheduled to testify – adding new layers to what is becoming one of the most high-profile legal battles in the entertainment industry.
