Charly Boy Advises Celebrities to Keep Private Lives Off Social Media

Veteran singer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has urged Nigerian celebrities to keep their personal affairs out of the public eye. His remarks come amid ongoing speculation surrounding the marriage of music star 2Baba and his wife, Annie Idibia.

In a recent interview with TVC, Charly Boy expressed sympathy for the couple but emphasized the importance of privacy in relationships. “I feel sorry for 2Baba and Annie Idibia. It’s unfortunate. But my advice would be, can we just keep our business private, away from the public?” he said.

He noted that while social media has transformed how people share their lives, individuals should take responsibility for what they disclose. “I’m not speaking as a saint. I have had disagreements with my partner, but we settle them privately. You don’t bring personal matters into the public for resolution,” he added.

Charly Boy also boasted that if he ever separated from his wife, the public would not be aware, as he would not publicize it. “If I were to stop living with my wife today, nobody would know about it. I won’t make noise about it.”

His comments highlight the growing debate over the impact of social media on personal relationships and the need for discretion in handling private matters.
