Chris Brown Declares Wizkid as His ‘Brother for Life’
American R&B star Chris Brown has expressed deep gratitude towards Nigerian music sensation Wizkid, describing him as his “brother for life” due to a kind gesture that left a lasting impact.
In a post shared by luthortv, Brown recounted how Wizkid invited him to perform at his O2 Arena concert in the UK in 2021. The invitation was particularly significant for Brown, who had not performed in the UK for over a decade following a ban in 2009 due to his conviction in the assault case involving his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.
Brown revealed that, despite his long absence from the UK, Wizkid took care of all his expenses and made sure everything was in place for his performance at one of the UK’s most iconic venues.
“Wizkid invited me to my biggest stage in the UK in 10 years. I had been performing all around America but hadn’t gone there for any show before. One day, Wiz called and told me he was getting everything set for me to come to his O2 Arena concert. He paid for everything, and I was wowed. Wizkid is my brother for life,” Brown shared.
Chris Brown’s ban from the UK in 2009, which stemmed from the fallout of his legal troubles, had long kept him from performing in the country. However, his friendship with Wizkid helped bring him back to the UK stage, solidifying their bond.
The heartfelt declaration has further cemented the mutual respect and admiration between the two global music stars.
