Comedian Bovi Condemns Beating Children, Calls for Change in Disciplinary Practices

Popular Nigerian comedian, Bovi Ugboma, has spoken out against corporal punishment for children, emphasizing that physical discipline does more harm than good.

Speaking on The Honest Bunch podcast, Bovi firmly opposed beating children as a corrective measure, questioning the intentions behind such actions.

“I don’t advocate for beating children. You should let children be. When you hit a kid, are you really trying to correct them or are you frustrated?” he asked during the discussion.

The entertainer also took a stand against the practice of senior students disciplining their juniors in schools, describing it as an unhealthy tradition.

“No child should be given authority over another child in the name of ‘senior student.’ It really has to stop,” he said, calling for reforms in school disciplinary systems.

Bovi’s remarks have reignited conversations around parenting and discipline in Nigeria, with many reflecting on alternative methods of guiding children.
