Cuban Reggaeton Star El Taiger Dies One Week After Shooting
Renowned Cuban reggaeton singer, El Taiger, has tragically passed away at the age of 37, a week after sustaining a gunshot wound to the head. The musician, born José Manuel Carvajal Zaldívar, died on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he had been on life support following the shooting.
The artist’s family confirmed his passing in a heartfelt statement shared on his Instagram stories. According to the statement, the incident occurred on October 3, around 7 a.m., when Miami police officers responded to a call at NW 17th St. and 10th Ave. El Taiger was found in a black Mercedes SUV, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Despite undergoing surgery and receiving extensive care from the hospital’s medical team, El Taiger succumbed to his injuries after a week on life support. His family expressed their sorrow, stating, “Sadly, this afternoon, El Taiger was pronounced dead and is now reunited with his beloved mother in heaven. While this is both shocking and heartbreaking, we urge his fans to honour his memory by celebrating the joy he brought to so many.”
