DaBaby Reveals He’s Quitting Alcohol After Brutal Hangover
Charlotte rapper DaBaby announced his decision to quit alcohol after a particularly wild night left him with a severe hangover and bedridden the following day. Taking to Instagram on Sunday (December 3), DaBaby issued a public service announcement, declaring that he’s officially done with drinking.
In the video, DaBaby stated, “It’s official bro, I don’t drink no more. Hell nah. I don’t drink no more, dog. So if you offer me a drink, when I got my appearances, don’t try to give me no bottles, don’t try to give me no shot. I don’t drink from this point forward. I’m stilling the fck out. It’s simple as that… You better not be drunk ’cause I’m gonna be sober.”*
DaBaby shared the consequences of his last drinking episode, revealing, “I do not drink no more. Got me on bed rest. Real talk, throwing up in my Maybach and getting out the car with my pants halfway down. What the fck wrong with me, dog?”*
Providing context to his brutal hangover, DaBaby shared on Instagram the incident where he had to pull over his Maybach to throw up while picking up his daughter from his mom’s house, with his baby girl cheering him on. “Good job, daddy,” she said.
DaBaby, looking to adopt a sober lifestyle, follows in the footsteps of one of his mentors, 50 Cent, who abstains from alcohol despite owning a lucrative liquor business. In his book “Hustle Harder, Hustle Smarter,” 50 Cent shared, “First, I’ll pour drinks from a bottle of champagne for everyone who is in VIP with me. When the bottle is empty, I’ll give it to one of my guys and have him quietly refill it with ginger ale.” DaBaby previously referred to 50 Cent as the “last role model” in his life in a birthday shout-out earlier this year.
