David Guetta Hails Ayra Starr as the ‘New Rihanna’ and Predicts Global Success
French DJ and record producer David Guetta has lauded Nigerian music sensation Ayra Starr as the modern equivalent of Barbadian-American superstar Rihanna. Guetta expressed admiration for Ayra Starr’s unique musical style and her potential to captivate a global audience.
In a recent interview with Cool FM Nigeria in Lagos via Skype, Guetta remarked, “When people speak about Ayra Starr in the [music] industry, a lot of us see her as the new Rihanna. Because she comes with her vibe that is very specific because of where she’s coming from. But she has the potential of crossing over into different cultures.”
Guetta also shared his amazement at Ayra Starr’s rising popularity, stating, “Since we recorded, she is having even more hits. It’s crazy. I’m French. I was in Paris, and everyone was talking about her. I was shocked like, ‘This is amazing. An African artiste that’s killing it in Europe, killing it in the U.S, it’s not everyday. Last time I saw it was working with Akon.’”
David Guetta recently collaborated with Ayra Starr and American rapper Lil Durk on their latest song, ‘Big Fu,’ showcasing his belief in Ayra’s potential to make a significant impact on the global music scene.
