Darkoo Accuses Peter Okoye of Sabotaging Her Song Over Feature Request

Nigerian-British singer Darkoo has publicly accused Peter Okoye, one half of the famed P-Square duo, of sabotaging her latest single, “Focus On Me.” In a viral post on her X (formerly Twitter) account, Darkoo claimed that Okoye, also known as Mr. P, orchestrated the removal of her music video from YouTube over a copyright dispute.

The video, released on January 2, 2024, was reportedly taken down for six days, a move Darkoo described as an act of retaliation. According to her, Mr. P had demanded to be featured on the song and allegedly became uncooperative when she declined his request.

Darkoo clarified that she had secured all necessary clearances for the song, which incorporates a sample. Despite agreeing to allocate 50% of the song’s earnings to P-Square, she alleged that Peter insisted on being part of the track and even created his own verse for it.

“He started causing problems because he wanted to be featured on the track. Even when I offered to include him on the remix, it wasn’t enough for him. Instead, he chose to act out of anger and try to sabotage it because I didn’t bow to his demands. It is sad and disappointing,” Darkoo wrote.

She further claimed that Peter had advised her not to involve his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye, in the matter.

As of the time of this report, Peter Okoye has not responded to the allegations. This incident adds to the string of controversies surrounding the singer, including past public disputes with his twin brother, Paul, and their elder brother, Jude Okoye.
