In a candid interview on Saturday, January 13, 2024, the international music sensation delved into his upbringing, shedding light on his father’s disciplined nature and recounting experiences that shaped his perspective on wealth. Despite being part of a wealthy family, Davido emphasized that his father, whom he described as disciplined, drove a Honda Accord.
Reflecting on his childhood, Davido remarked, “All this talk about being rich, my dad is very disciplined. He’s quite different; you can tell he’s a very disciplined man. I didn’t know we had money till I was 13. Despite being a billionaire, my dad drove a Honda Accord, I’m telling you.”

Recounting an incident in Nigeria where their house was affected by a mistake, resulting in damage, Davido explained the circumstances surrounding their relocation from their first home.
