Davido Reveals Why He Didn’t Perform at the ‘Warri Again’ Concert
Amidst a storm of speculations and accusations, Nigerian music sensation Davido has come forward to address the reasons behind his absence at the Warri Again concert, which took place in Delta State.
Davido, a multiple award-winning singer and performer, was thrust into the spotlight recently, with allegations suggesting that he had accepted a payment of over $94,000 from Amaju Pinnick to perform at the event. However, the artist has provided clarity on the matter, asserting that he had communicated his unavailability to the concert organizers well in advance.
In a statement, Davido expressed his bewilderment at the public promotion of his involvement in the concert when he had previously informed the event’s coordinators that he would not be able to attend. This revelation comes as a response to various unfounded speculations and allegations surrounding his non-participation.
In his statement, Davido issued an apology to fans and supporters who may have been disappointed by his absence. He went on to express gratitude for their unwavering support and assured them that he would make amends by bringing his concert to Warri, Delta State, in the future.
The artist’s response is a significant step in clarifying the situation, highlighting that the allegations were based on a misunderstanding and that he remains committed to his fans and future performances.
His post which was shared on his Instagram platform read, “To my lovely fans in Warri that spent their hard earned money to come out. Apologies you had to experience this.“I was not going to be physically able to make it and this had been communicated to ‘them’ for a longgggg while now I mean MONTHS ago but for reasons best known to them, they continued to promote the show using my name.“It’s a shame. But specially for my fans out there, don’t worry, you know I gotta bring Timeless to Delta State. We will do it proper, bigger and better !”
