Young Thug has Found Unlikely New Hobby in Jail, Says Girlfriend Mariah The Scientist
While awaiting trial behind bars, Young Thug has discovered a novel way to pass the time, and it’s not through typical jailhouse activities. The rapper has apparently become an avid Candy Crush player during his incarceration.
In an interview with TMZ, Mariah The Scientist, Young Thug’s girlfriend, she shared some insights into the rapper’s current pastime. She revealed that Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, has been keeping himself busy by mastering the popular mobile game, Candy Crush.
According to Mariah The Scientist, Young Thug spends a significant amount of time on his iPad, engaging in Candy Crush gameplay almost daily. The revelation highlights how the rapper is finding creative ways to occupy his time while awaiting trial.
In the midst of the interview, Mariah The Scientist also addressed those who suggested she should end her relationship with Young Thug due to his legal issues. She emphatically responded, “I don’t give a [expletive]. No, I like him, and I won’t be doing this. We’re great.”
Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist first sparked dating rumours in January 2022 when they collaborated on the song “Walked In.” The song’s music video featured them portraying a married couple, fueling the speculation.
Throughout the latter part of 2021, the pair was spotted at various Atlanta hotspots, including an Atlanta Falcons game. Young Thug has been making efforts to stay connected with Mariah, even orchestrating a romantic gesture while he was incarcerated.
Last year, the rapper filled her hotel room with rose petals and balloons, teasing his release from prison with a message on the bed that read, “See U Soon Love Jeffery,” employing his given name.
Despite his ongoing legal challenges, Young Thug’s trial is making slow progress. He was arrested in May 2022 on multiple RICO charges. To date, a full jury has yet to be seated, and the trial is expected to extend between six to nine months, indicating that the rapper’s legal fate may remain unresolved well into 2024.
