Mercy Aigbe Accused of Flaunting Fake Designer Bag
Popular actress Mercy Aigbe has come under scrutiny after luxury detective page T20Luxury accused her of showcasing a counterfeit designer handbag.
The Instagram-based fashion watchdog shared a photo of Aigbe, claiming that the Louis Vuitton Capucines bag she flaunted was not authentic. The page also questioned the legitimacy of her eyewear.
In a statement directed at the actress, T20Luxury wrote, “Dear Mercy Aigbe, this is NOT a genuine LV Capucines. Even the authenticity of the eyewear is questionable.”
Acknowledging Aigbe’s status as a celebrity, the platform advised her to be more cautious when selecting stylists or personal shoppers.
“As someone in the creative industry, you understand the negative impact of counterfeit goods on originality and innovation. We encourage you to conduct due diligence when hiring a stylist,” the post added.
The controversy follows a similar case involving comedian AY Makun, who was recently called out by the same platform for allegedly flaunting a fake Hermès bag.
