Kanye West Plans Massive Concert in Italy, Pending Authorization
Kanye West is reportedly gearing up for a massive concert in Reggio Emilia, Italy, set to entertain over 80,000 people next week.
According to Italian newspaper ReggiOnline, which describes itself as the “official voice” of the northern Italian city, West has already dispatched workers to construct a stage in preparation for the event scheduled for Friday, October 13.
However, the report also highlights that while West is making preparations for the concert, he has not yet obtained the necessary authorizations from Italian authorities to officially confirm the event for that date and time. In case the required authorizations are not granted, there is a possibility that the event might be rescheduled for the following Friday, October 20.
Speculation surrounds the nature of the concert and the performers involved, as there has been no official confirmation from West’s team or any other parties. The preparations could potentially be for an end-of-summer concert, leaving the rumors of performers up in the air.
If the surprise concert indeed takes place, it is expected to be hosted at the RCF Arena, situated on the former site of the Campovolo airport, with the capacity to accommodate a large crowd. However, the Arena’s website has not made any announcements regarding a concert on October 13, including a Kanye West performance.
Kanye West’s last performance in Italy was in August, during Travis Scott’s UTOPIA debut in front of 60,000 fans. This marked West’s return to the stage after making controversial remarks in 2022, including comments that were criticized as antisemitic and anti-BLM. During the show, West and Scott performed Donda’s “Praise God” and West’s 2007 hit “Can’t Tell Me Nothing.”
Travis Scott expressed his appreciation for West during the performance, stating, “There is no UTOPIA without Kanye West. There is no Travis Scott without Kanye West. There is no Rome without Kanye West.”
