Dayo Amusa Recalls Emotional Struggle with Infertility Before Motherhood
Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has opened up about her emotional battle with infertility and the intense prayers she made before becoming a mother.
In a recent interview with Debbie Shokoya, Amusa recounted how she broke down in tears in front of her domestic staff, crying out to God for a child. She revealed that after undergoing multiple medical examinations and surgeries in her quest for motherhood, she reached a point of desperation, giving God an ultimatum to either fulfill His promise or take her life.
“I remember singing at the top of my voice, crying deeply without caring that my maid and domestic workers were around,” she recalled. “I told God, ‘Either you take my life at this moment or fulfill your promise to me.’ I was exhausted. I knew the number of medical checkups and surgeries I had gone through. I told God if it was still meant to happen, then let it happen. If not, He should take my life.”
Amusa’s journey to motherhood eventually had a happy ending. In November 2024, she welcomed a baby boy named Oluwafirewamiri.
The actress had previously disclosed that her ex-husband left her due to her struggles with infertility and later fathered a child with another woman.
