My Followers are Reducing – Kanayo O. Kanayo Cries Out
Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has raised concerns over a steady decline in his Instagram followers, calling out Meta, the platform’s parent company, for what he describes as unfair treatment.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, the movie star lamented that his follower count had been dropping for several months instead of growing. He questioned how it was possible that he had not gained even a thousand new followers in nearly a year.
“I have noticed that for the past seven to eight months, my Instagram followership, which was about 2.2 or 2.3 million, has dropped to 1.9 million,” he said. “Is it possible that I have not gained even a thousand followers in all this time? This is happening to a lot of people, and it’s concerning.”
Kanayo emphasized that content creators rely on these platforms for engagement and visibility, urging Instagram to be more transparent and fair in its dealings with users. He called on the social media giant to recognize the value that creators bring to the platform, stressing that their contributions benefit both parties.
