Diddy Accused Of Dangling Woman Over 17th Floor Balcony In New Lawsuit
Music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing a fresh lawsuit from designer Bryana “Bana” Bongolan, who has accused him of assault and threatening behaviour. Filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on November 27, the lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $10 million and includes allegations of physical abuse and threats made against Bongolan, as well as claims that she witnessed abusive behaviour toward Diddy’s former partner, Cassie Ventura.
Allegations of Assault
According to the lawsuit, the alleged assault took place on September 26, 2016, at Cassie’s apartment. Bongolan claims that Diddy sexually assaulted her, lifted her over a 17th-floor balcony railing, and threatened her life. The lawsuit further alleges that Diddy eventually pulled her back over the railing but then slammed her onto the apartment’s patio furniture.
The filing describes the incident as part of a broader pattern of abusive behaviour. Bongolan reportedly became acquainted with Cassie in 2014 and later observed troubling signs of an abusive relationship between Cassie and Diddy.
Connections to Cassie’s Earlier Allegations
Some details in Bongolan’s complaint echo incidents described in Cassie’s now-settled lawsuit against Diddy. Cassie had alleged that Diddy dangled one of her friends over a high balcony during an altercation, similar to the behaviour outlined in Bongolan’s claims.
Diddy’s Response
A representative for Diddy has denied the allegations, stating:
“Anyone has the right to file a lawsuit, regardless of the evidence they may or may not have. Since last year, Ms. Bongolan has expressed an intention to sue Mr. Combs and has sought legal representation to pursue her claims. Mr. Combs firmly denies these serious allegations and remains confident they will ultimately be proven baseless.”
Ongoing Legal Battles
This lawsuit adds to a growing list of legal challenges for Diddy, including a federal sex trafficking and racketeering case. A recent request for bail in that case was denied, with Judge Arun Subramanian citing evidence of violent behaviour, including text messages and video evidence related to past incidents of alleged abuse.
The judge’s ruling referenced a 2016 video showing Diddy assaulting Cassie and subsequent messages from her describing physical injuries.
“[T]here is compelling evidence of Combs’s propensity for violence,” Judge Subramanian stated.
The allegations and ongoing legal issues come at a time of heightened scrutiny for the music and business mogul, further tarnishing his public image.
