Don Jazzy Slams Food Vendor Who Requested Rema Performance After Gifting Him Nkwobi
Renowned Nigerian music executive Don Jazzy has expressed frustration after a food vendor offered him a free plate of nkwobi – only to later demand that Mavin Records star Rema perform at her upcoming event for free.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Don Jazzy recounted the bizarre exchange, explaining that the vendor had insisted on giving him the traditional delicacy, which he eventually accepted. However, he was taken aback when she later asked him to arrange a complimentary performance by his top artiste, Rema.
“This is why I don’t like accepting free things,” he said in the video. “Out of nowhere, you give me free nkwobi that I didn’t ask for. Then suddenly, you’re asking me to give you Rema? Because of nkwobi? What’s the exchange rate?”
The Mavin boss used the moment to caution fans and well-wishers, saying, “Nobody should give me any free gift again. I don’t want it.”
The incident has sparked laughter and debate online, with many agreeing that the request was over the top while others viewed it as a humorous case of “quid pro quo” gone wrong.
