Why Did Drake Bet on Barcelona?

At the beginning of the 2022-2023 soccer campaign, Barcelona signed an agreement with Spotify. Since both organizations signed the deal, the Camp Nou Stadium became the Spotify Camp Nou Stadium.

Nevertheless, the deal between Barcelona and Spotify goes beyond a name and a printed image. The team from Catalonia decided to innovate with Spotify, and they did it for the first time in the year.

Barcelona used a jersey with an owl representing Drake and honoring the 50 million reproductions on Spotify.

“One of the key axes in the alliance between FC Barcelona and Spotify is to unite soccer and music to connect with new audiences around the world,” FC Barcelona described. “To bring together these two fields that share their ability to unite people and arouse the emotions of fans, the first men’s soccer team will take the field in Sunday’s Clásico with a shirt that, for the first time, will not display the logo of its main partner on the front.”

“But the emblem of an internationally renowned artist: the singer and songwriter Drake, winner of 4 Grammy awards and the first to reach 50 billion plays on Spotify,” Barcelona concluded.

The Game Between Real Madrid and Barcelona

Real Madrid defeated 3-1 FC Barcelona with two first-half goals.

Karim Benzema and Federico Valverde scored the first two goals of the game. Then Ferran Torres cut the difference by one, but a penalty scored by Rodrigo in added time gave the victory to Real Madrid.
