Drake Surprises Fans with Announcement of ‘Scary Hours 3’ Project Through Cinematic Trailer

In a surprising turn of events, Drake has revealed his plans to drop a new project titled ‘Scary Hours 3,’ adding to his already prolific career.

Despite releasing his eighth studio album, ‘For All the Dogs,’ in early October, the Toronto superstar recently announced that ‘Scary Hours 3’ would be available on streaming services in less than 24 hours, hitting the digital platforms on Friday (November 17) at midnight.

Drake took to Instagram to share an almost two-minute-long trailer for the EP, featuring cinematic shots of Toronto’s Roy Thomson Hall and a monologue reflecting on his creative streak. The video captures the essence of Drake’s current mental state and his confidence in the recent body of work.

“I feel so confident about the body of work that I just dropped that I know I could go and disappear for, whatever, six months, a year, two years,” Drake expressed in the trailer. “Even though I’m not really, like, into the super lengthy disappearances for the sake of mystery.”

He further explained the spontaneous creation of the songs, comparing the experience to the early days of ‘If You’re Reading This…,’ stating, “I feel like I’m on drugs. I feel like I’m in that mental state without doing anything. I did those songs in the last five days! I didn’t have one bar written down for those songs on the night that ‘For All the Dogs’ dropped!”

The trailer builds anticipation with orchestral music and unveils an invitation for ‘Scary Hours 3,’ executive-produced by Noel Cadastre, Aubrey Graham (Drake), and Kevin Durant.

‘Scary Hours 3’ marks the third installment in Drake’s EP series, with the first release in 2018 containing the diamond-certified hit “God’s Plan” and “Diplomatic Immunity.” The 2021 release, ‘Scary Hours 2,’ featured collaborations with Lil Baby and Rick Ross.

Despite Drake’s recent indication of taking a break from the studio to focus on his health, ‘Scary Hours 3’ comes as a surprise. The rapper had mentioned, “I probably won’t make music for a little bit” upon the release of ‘For All the Dogs,’ citing health concerns.

The EP’s details, such as the number of tracks and potential collaborations, remain undisclosed. However, Drake’s decision to drop this project aligns with his announcement of a joint tour with J. Cole in early 2024, titled ‘It’s All a Blur — Big As the What? Tour,’ covering smaller U.S. cities from January 18 to March 27.
