FilmOne Studios Set to Release Captivating Period Drama ‘Farmer’s Bride’ on September 27th
FilmOne Studios, a prominent Nigerian production company, has announced the highly anticipated release of its latest original film, Farmer’s Bride. Scheduled to premiere in cinemas nationwide on September 27th, this period drama promises to captivate audiences with its rich storytelling and stellar performances.
Set against the backdrop of 1980s Ibadan, Farmer’s Bride tells the haunting tale of Odun, a wealthy yet lonely farmer, who marries a young bride, Funmi. However, their union is soon tested as Funmi struggles to find happiness and becomes entangled in a forbidden affair with Odun’s nephew. The film explores themes of love, betrayal, and the supernatural, leading to devastating consequences.
The film features an impressive cast, including Tobi Bakre (Gangs of Lagos), Gbubemi Ejeye (Far From Home), Femi Branch (House of Gaa), Mercy Aigbe (Ada Omo Mummy), Efe Irele (L.I.F.E), and Wumi Toriola (Aburo). Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, the film promises to deliver powerful performances and an engaging narrative.
