Floyd Mayweather Declines to Condemn Diddy Amid Sexual Assault Allegations, Says: “Mistakes Happen”

In a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast hosted by former NFL stars Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor, and Ryan Clark, retired professional boxer Floyd Mayweather opted not to denounce Diddy over allegations of sexual assault.

When the conversation turned to the embattled hip-hop mogul, Mayweather took a nuanced stance, refraining from harsh criticism. “I’m not gonna speak bad about P. Diddy,” Mayweather asserted. “‘Cause he still a Black man. Mistakes happen.”

Mayweather’s remarks reflected a reluctance to judge Diddy’s actions harshly, emphasizing the complexity of life’s challenges. “And I can’t say if it is or not a mistake, but things happen in life,” Mayweather continued. “And P. Diddy’s business is P. Diddy’s business. It’s not my job or anybody else’s job to go on the internet and stomp him and kick a man while he’s down.”

While Mayweather made it clear that he doesn’t condone such behavior, he emphasized the importance of respecting personal boundaries and individual choices. “My take on it is: it’s not my business. I don’t think it’s right at all and I don’t condone it. Even if that happened to my daughter, I would be hurt but that’s a choice that my daughter made.”

Ryan Clark interjected, highlighting the significance of accountability and empathy, particularly in cases involving allegations of sexual assault. “If those things happened to those women, not only is it not right, it’s also not their fault,” Clark emphasized.

Diddy has faced multiple accusations of sexual assault since November of the previous year, all of which he vehemently denies. Despite the legal challenges, Diddy has maintained his innocence, asserting that the allegations are baseless attempts to tarnish his reputation.

As the controversy surrounding Diddy unfolds, Mayweather’s measured response underscores the complexities of addressing allegations in the public eye, urging caution and empathy in discussions surrounding sensitive issues like sexual assault.
