Former Miss SA Finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, Set to Compete in Miss Universe Nigeria 2024

Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican descent, who recently withdrew from the Miss South Africa 2024 pageant amid controversy surrounding her nationality, has announced her participation in the upcoming Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 competition.

Adetshina, who was a Top 11 finalist in Miss South Africa 2024, stepped down after the South African Department of Home Affairs raised concerns about potential fraud and identity theft involving her mother’s documentation. Despite the scrutiny, she has now been invited to compete in Nigeria’s prestigious Miss Universe Nigeria pageant.

In a video statement, Adetshina shared her excitement about this new opportunity. “I have decided to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 beauty pageant… I am looking forward to being part of Africa’s most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe Nigeria,” she said.

Adetshina’s decision marks a significant shift in her pageantry journey, as she now sets her sights on representing Nigeria on the global stage. The Miss Universe Nigeria pageant is known for celebrating the beauty, intelligence, and cultural heritage of Nigerian women, and Adetshina’s participation adds a layer of intrigue and anticipation to the competition.
