D’banj and Don Jazzy Stir Nostalgia in Announcement for ‘Entertainer 2.0’

Nigerian music icon D’banj is set to release his highly anticipated fifth album, Entertainer – The Sequel, a follow-up to his classic 2008 album The Entertainer which catapulted him to international stardom. The announcement was made in a nostalgic video featuring actor Gideon Okeke and a cameo from longtime collaborator and Mo’hits co-founder, Don Jazzy.

The album is expected to be a star-studded affair, with D’banj enlisting global music heavyweights such as Grammy award winner Wyclef Jean, Congolese legend Awilo Logomba, Senegalese icon Youssou N’Dour, American superstar Akon, South African DJ Maphorisa, and NBC’s The Voice sensation Chechi Sarai.

Entertainer – The Sequel will also feature collaborations with top Nigerian artists, including Phyno, Timaya, Kayswitch, Zlatan, Peruzzi, Bhadboi Oml, and Chuchu Lee, ensuring that the album will resonate deeply with fans of African music.

In anticipation of the album’s release, D’banj dropped a new single titled Worthy on July 19, featuring Youssou N’Dour and Chechi Sarai. The track offers a sneak peek into the sounds and themes that will define the forthcoming album.

Expressing his excitement about the project, D’banj shared, “Life is a maze of self-discovery, and my new album Entertainer – The Sequel confirms this truth to me. It’s a true reflection of my growth as an artist and my continued commitment to pushing the boundaries of African music. Following the album’s release, D’banj will embark on a global tour in partnership with The Temple Company, taking his new music to major cities around the world.
