Future Confirms Highly Anticipated Joint Album with Metro Boomin is Underway

Future and Metro Boomin enthusiasts can finally rejoice as the long-anticipated collaborative album between the rapper and renowned producer is officially confirmed. The Grammy-winning artist, known for hits like “Mask Off,” took to Instagram Stories on Saturday to share the exciting news, posting a screenshot of a tweet reading “Pluto x Metro” and confirming that the album is “on the way.”

Future and Metro Boomin’s creative partnership has spanned over a decade, dating back to their collaboration on “Karate Chop” in 2013. Metro Boomin, a prolific producer, has contributed to some of Future’s chart-topping tracks, including “Low Life,” “Wicked,” and “Where Ya At.” Despite their successful history, the duo hadn’t produced a joint album since 2017’s “Hndrxx,” leaving fans eagerly awaiting new collaborative work.

The joint album was first hinted at by Metro Boomin in March, and despite delays, the confirmation from Future has reignited anticipation. In a studio picture shared by Metro in September, he teased “AOTY [album of the year] loading,” further raising expectations for the project.

While initial speculation suggested a potential release before the end of 2023, the timeline remains uncertain. Metro Boomin acknowledged the delay, emphasizing their commitment to perfection and the significance of delivering a flawless album. Speaking to Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, he stated, “I know how important this album from both of us is going to be. With our track record, it’s important that we deliver and not miss at all. Me and him working together is easy ’cause we’ve been doing it for 10-plus years.”

The duo’s live performance earlier in the year in Atlanta provided a glimpse into their ongoing collaboration, with Metro expressing excitement about entering a new phase of their creative journey. As Metro Boomin awaits potential victories at the 2024 Grammys, where he’s nominated for Producer of the Year and Best Rap Album for “Heroes & Villains,” fans eagerly anticipate the upcoming musical venture between Future and Metro Boomin.
