Hardship: This is the Year P-Square Should Have Sang ‘E No Easy’ – Adekunle Gold
Nigerian artist Adekunle Gold recently voiced his frustrations over the country’s escalating economic hardships, suggesting that this would be the ideal time for P-Square’s 2009 hit E No Easy to make a comeback. Reflecting on the song’s message, which highlights the struggles faced during tough times, Adekunle Gold noted that its lyrics resonate strongly with the challenges Nigerians are currently experiencing.
Taking to Snapchat, Gold humorously suggested that if E No Easy were released this year, he’d be eager to add his own verse to express his feelings on the current economy. “Na this year Psquare suppose sing ‘E No Easy,’” he wrote. “Make them feature me, make I express my feelings for verse 3.”
Originally part of P-Square’s Danger album, E No Easy struck a chord with listeners when it was released in 2009, capturing the resilience required to navigate difficult times. The track was later reimagined in 2012 as Positif, a bilingual French/English collaboration with French artist Matt Houston, becoming a popular anthem in France.
With Nigeria’s economic struggles worsening, Adekunle Gold’s call for a revival of E No Easy has resonated with many fans, who view the song as a fitting commentary on the country’s current challenges.
