‘I Have My Grammys Speech Ready’ – Ayra Starr

Nigerian singing sensation Ayra Starr, also known as Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, recently disclosed in an interview with Cool FM Nigeria that she is not just hopeful but fully prepared to receive the prestigious Grammy Award. The Mavin Records artist has already crafted her acceptance speech in anticipation of the 66th Grammy Awards, where her song ‘Rush’ has been nominated in the inaugural Best African Music Performance category.

Acknowledging the stiff competition in the category, Ayra Starr expressed her confidence, stating, “I have my Grammys speech ready. It is quite long because it is the first African category. I already know my walk, my outfit.”

With her hit song ‘Rush,’ Ayra Starr will be competing for the Best African Music Performance award alongside other notable tracks, including Davido’s ‘Unavailable,’ Asake and Olamide’s ‘Amapiano,’ Burna Boy’s ‘City Boys,’ and Tyla’s ‘Water.’

Ayra Starr, exuding optimism, shared her post-award plans, revealing that her first celebration will involve a visit to a Chinese restaurant for a meal. She added that her next step would be to video call her mother, capturing the emotional moment of triumph.
