‘I Met My Husband When I Was 13 on 2Go’ – Mohbad’s Widow, Wunmi Reveals
Omowunmi Aloba, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has opened up about how she met her husband over a decade ago through the once-popular social media app, 2Go.
Speaking in a recent interview with TVC, Wunmi revealed that their relationship began when she was just 13 and Mohbad was 15. What started as a friendship, fueled by their shared love for music – she was a rapper, and he was a singer – eventually blossomed into a romantic relationship.
“I met him when I was 13 on 2Go. That was 12 years ago. We started as friends because we were both into music. He later asked me out, and I accepted. We got married and had a child together,” she recounted.
Ongoing Investigation into Mohbad’s Death
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that have continued to spark controversy. He was buried the following day in Ikorodu, Lagos, but his body was later exhumed on September 21 for an autopsy.
The results of the autopsy remain pending, with his father, Joseph Aloba, insisting that Mohbad will not be reburied until the findings are released. He has also called for a DNA test to confirm the paternity of his grandson, Liam.
As the investigation into Mohbad’s death continues, fans and loved ones remain hopeful for answers.
