‘I was Raped Five Times’ – Iyabo Ojo
Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has shared her harrowing experiences as a survivor of rape, revealing that she endured sexual assault five times in her life.
Speaking on the Talk to B podcast, the Nollywood star emphasized her unwavering stance against rape and her commitment to holding perpetrators accountable, regardless of their identity.
“I was raped five times in my life,” Ojo disclosed during the interview. “I discovered we have a lot of rape apologists. I do not care who the person is, even if the person is my son, I’m going to come for him unapologetically.”
The actress also reflected on her challenging upbringing, which was marked by family complexities. Raised by her grandmother, Ojo said she didn’t meet her mother until she was seven years old. She further revealed struggles within her family, noting her father’s battle with substance abuse, which affected him significantly.
