I Will Retrieve Cars Bought for My Artists if They Leave My Record Label – Portable
Habeeb Okikiola, better known as Portable, a controversial singer, has recently stirred a debate in the Nigerian music industry by claiming ownership of cars provided to artists signed under his record label, Zeh Nation. The artist has expressed his intention to reclaim these vehicles should any of his artists choose to part ways with the label.
During a live Instagram session with his fans, Portable disclosed that the cars in question were procured by the record label and, therefore, rightfully belong to Zeh Nation. He also highlighted that despite the artists’ limited earnings, he generously gifted them multi-million Naira cars.
In his words, Portable stated, “Do you know how many record labels that have signed Abuga before I signed him and gave him fame? Use your brain bro. No enviousness. No ripping. Zeh Nation.”
While emphasizing his prominent role within the record label, he added, “However, I will collect all the cars I bought for Youngiduu and Abuga when they leave Zeh Nation. The cars are the record label’s properties. I’m the one promoting the record label. I’m the top artist of the record label. I’m the one making all the money for the record label.”
Portable’s remarks have sparked discussions among fans and within the music industry regarding the ownership of assets provided to artists under record labels and the dynamics of artist-label relationships.
