Iconic “Aqua” Air Jordan 8s Set for July 19 Return in All Sizes

The legendary “Aqua” Air Jordan 8s are making a highly anticipated comeback this summer, with Nike confirming a July 19th, 2025 release date. The retro will be available in full family sizing, as Jordan Brand continues to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Air Jordan franchise with a slate of classic reissues.

Originally introduced in 1993, the “Aqua” colorway is one of the three original editions of the Air Jordan 8, alongside the “Playoffs” and “Bugs Bunny” versions. While the color scheme didn’t match the Chicago Bulls’ uniform – and therefore was never worn by Michael Jordan during regular-season games – it earned its place in sneaker history when MJ laced them up at the 1993 NBA All-Star Game.

This marks the third return of the “Aqua” 8s. A 2007 retro featured a darker, all-black upper, while the 2015 version stayed closer to the original design. The 2025 release retains the signature elements of the OG, including a black nubuck upper, ribbed grey suede overlays, and vibrant teal and purple accents on the mudguard and midsole. Pops of yellow and red on the outsole and tongue branding add to the bold, nostalgic 90s aesthetic that fans remember.

The release also marks the midpoint in Jordan Brand’s effort to reintroduce all original Air Jordan 8 colorways. The “Playoffs” returned in 2023, while the “Bugs Bunny” edition is expected to drop later this year.

The Air Jordan 8 “Aqua” will launch on Nike SNKRS and at select retailers, with prices set at $215 for adults, $160 for grade school, $100 for preschool, and $85 for infants.

Sneaker enthusiasts and longtime Jordan fans are expected to snap these up quickly, so early planning is advised for anyone looking to secure a pair.
