LinkedIn Experiences Widespread Outage in the UK and Beyond
Hundreds of LinkedIn users across the UK have reported issues accessing the platform, with disruptions beginning around 6 p.m. Users encountered error messages, login failures, and unresponsive pages, leading to frustration among professionals relying on the site.
According to Downdetector, a real-time outage tracking service, over 200 users reported problems within the first 30 minutes of the disruption. However, as the issue persisted, reports surged past 1,100, indicating a global impact.
Website and App Affected
Downdetector’s data revealed that 82% of users faced issues with the website, while 17% struggled with the mobile app. A smaller fraction, just 1%, reported problems related to their profiles.
One LinkedIn user shared their frustration on Downdetector, stating: “Woke up to a message saying I’ve reached the maximum number of login attempts, but I never even logged in.”
Meanwhile, on X (formerly Twitter), another user posted, “LinkedIn is down, y’all.”
No Official Response Yet
As of now, LinkedIn, which is owned by Microsoft, has not released a statement explaining the cause of the outage or providing a timeline for when the platform will be restored.
This is a developing story.
