If ‘Glass Onion’ Has You Craving Murder Mysteries, Watch These 10 Films Next

OK, so no one gets killed in this movie but it’s still a fun conundrum. In fact, as one clever tweet pointed out, Mamma Mia has quite a few ties to Knives Out: Glass Onion. In Mamma Mia, James Bond (Daniel Craig in Glass Onion, Pierce Brosnan in Mamma Mia) is invited to a Greek Island to solve a mystery. Of course in the beloved Brosnan flick, there’s a lot less murder and a lot more singing. A musical mystery! What more could you ask for?

Death on the Nile
In Death on the Nile a newlywed couple invites their wedding guests on a cruise across the, yes, nile. But when someone is mysteriously shot, their vacation is upended. Suddenly, everyone on board is a suspect and sleuth Hercule Poirot is enlisted to solve the case.

Murder on the Orient Express
Murder on the Orient Express, based on author Agatha Christie’s novel of the same name, follows 13 strangers on a glamorous train ride through Europe. (It’s not hard to see the connection to the film above, right? Both plots originally hale from Christie.) What starts as a fun journey turns into a complete nightmare when one passenger turns up dead. Luckily, super-sleuth Hercule Poirot is determined to find the killer.

Murder Mystery
Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler star as a married couple in this laugh out loud mystery. The duo goes on vacation to save their waffling marriage, but their plans are foiled when they get framed for a murder. In order to clear their names—and get out of Europe alive—they have to find the real killer.

Clue
Yep, that’s right, we think you should watch Clue—as in, the movie based on that board game from the 90s. This film adaptation follows six guests who are invited to a mysterious mansion for dinner. When the event’s host is killed, the guests and staff have to work together before more people wind up dead.

And Then There Were None
And Then There Were None is a downright classic. Based on yet another Christie novel, this film follows seven guests who are invited to an isolated mansion by an unknown host. Shortly after they arrive, the guests are killed off one by one while those who remain race to identify the killer.

Crooked House
This Christie adaptation is a bit different than the others, but don’t worry, it’s just as twisted. Crooked House follows a detective who is asked by his former lover to catch her grandfather’s murderer. If he can’t manage to do so, her family’s secrets will come to light.

Mindhunters
Mindhunters is like an episode of Criminal Minds gone wrong. In this underrated 2004 film, a group of FBI profilers are sent to a remote training center. When one of their colleagues is murdered by a simple game, they have to use their investigative skills to identify who is responsible.

Shutter Island
Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Teddy Daniels, a U.S Marshall turned detective, in Shutter Island. When a murderer escapes from a locked-down insane asylum, Daniels is sent to the facility to investigate. What he finds is a mind-boggling mystery that forces him to confront his own fears to solve it. 12 years post-release and this one still shocks.

Once Upon a Crime
In this campy mystery, two tourists in Monte Carlo find a lost dog. When they try to return the pet, they discover the owner has been murdered. Suddenly, all the travelers they’ve met along the way become prime suspects—and are subjected to the questioning of Inspector Bonnard.

Mamma Mia
OK, so no one gets killed in this movie but it’s still a fun conundrum. In fact, as one clever tweet pointed out, Mamma Mia has quite a few ties to Knives Out: Glass Onion.
