Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Finalize Divorce
Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially finalized their divorce, marking the end of their high-profile marriage.
Court documents submitted by Lopez to the Los Angeles Superior Court on January 6, 2025, revealed that the couple reached a settlement through mediation in September 2024, just a month after Lopez filed for divorce.
The final step in the process will occur on February 20, 2025, when a judge is expected to approve the divorce. At that point, Lopez will legally drop “Affleck” from her name.
The settlement allows both parties to retain the earnings from their individual ventures, with no requirement for spousal support. Despite the split, the two have agreed to maintain a presence in each other’s lives, according to reports.
Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, tied the knot in July 2022. However, their union faced challenges, leading Lopez to file for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. Court filings listed April 26, 2024, as the official date of their separation.
Affleck has three children – Samuel, 12, Seraphina, 15, and Violet, 18 – with his first wife. Lopez shares 16-year-old twins, Emme and Max, with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony.
The couple’s decision to part ways concludes a chapter in their storied relationship, which began decades ago before they reunited and eventually married.
